English Language & SAT/ACT Prep
Knowledge of the English language is crucial to your success in any of our programs, as well as high school and college acceptance. We understand that it can often be a struggle but with patience and a great ELL program you’ll be on your way to a great academic future!
Throughout the year we offer standard programs that include flexible options such as:

Our basic programs always include private in-home tutoring allowing you the help you need anywhere in the U.S.
Other programs include:
Sunny California: Any number of weeks. Program runs year-round
Classes held in a classroom setting. Half and full day classes are available. Stay with a local family. Program runs all year based on availability.
Add-on excursions include: Knott’s Berry Farm, Disneyland, water parks, Universal Studios, LA/Hollywood Tour, Campus Tour, Sea World, Six Flags, Museums/Science Center, Shopping, San Diego, San Francisco, Las Vegas and many more!
Exciting Connecticut: 1-2 week summer program
Classes can be held in a private non-smoking home which also hosts you, or in a chaperoned dorm! Meet students from around the world! Classes are held 4 hrs. Mon-Thurs. Afternoon activities included every day to locations such as: Museum, Beaches, Hiking, Castle Tour, Mystic Seaport, State Building, Festivals, Shopping, Mark Twain House, and Newport Mansions. A New York City excursion is also included!
Connecticut Private Boarding School: 4 weeks summer program
The ELL (TOEFL prep) summer program runs from 8:00 am to 5:15 pm Monday through Friday. The day includes just under 4 hours of ELL/TOEFL prep focusing on reading, writing and speaking. In the afternoon students are involved either in special ELL projects and/or study hall before selecting 1 of the following extracurricular activities:
*Studio Art
*Crime Scene Investigation
*Film Making
*Electronic Music
*Ropes Challenge Course
*Swimming
*Tennis
*Soccer
Swimming and tennis is also available throughout the day during any of the break periods and after classes end.
After students complete the program they are again offered a TOEFL test where a typical increase of 20 points is gained.
Connecticut Private School with Homestay: 2 week summer program
In this quality ELL program, students will attend classes on a beautiful private college campus. Classes are held Monday through Friday from 8:30am - 3:30pm. The ELL instructor is an experienced Chinese-American campus teacher that also understands the cultural and learning differences between Chinese and American students. ELL classes are intensive but the program also includes classes in preparing for college and classroom expectations where students learn about how the US school system works and how to be the best students they can be.
Students are placed with a local host family. Two organized excursions are offered.

The Preferred Program is designed specifically for foreign students who generally have more difficulty with Critical Reading, Grammar and the Essay than they do with the math.
In order to create your customized program, you will first be offered a pretest to determine your abilities and needs. The results are then analyzed and a customized tutorial plan is created just for you. You will be provided with the official College Board SAT guide and a custom-made workbook to follow along with the presentation. Real SAT questions are provided and through proven focusing techniques and hands-on work you'll learn successful strategies and Instruction to improve your SAT and/or ACT exam scores. Each session is 90 minutes long.

All you need is a computer, internet, and a place to work. Classes are held one-on-one with a highly-skilled, live tutor. Once you have arranged a session you'll receive an invitation by email which includes the link to the session. Simply follow the link and the session will begin automatically.
Enroll in our Preferred Program and you'll receive the pretest, customized tutorial program, the official College Board SAT guide and workbook mailed directly to you, and 10 online tutorial sessions.

Choose the hourly one-on-one line program and decide how many hours of tutoring you need in each of the programs; math, critical reading, grammar and essay. Both choices of professional tutoring are available.
